Golden Oars | A Love Letter in Light and Water

Updated: Jun 30

Last spring, I bought a boat.

Not for fishing. Not for floating. But for feeling—for creating something slow, meaningful, and beautiful. Something that felt like memory before it even happened.

For the past year, this idea has quietly taken shape in the back of my mind. I could see it even before I could say it: warm golden light skimming across calm water, a girl becoming herself, a styled boat anchored not in place but in purpose.

And now—after months of dreaming and planning—Golden Oars is almost ready to share.

🌿 A Collaboration of Intentions

This project came to life with the help of Colleen from Bella Vita Flowers, who designed a bespoke floral arrangement specifically for this boat.

Each bloom is a real-touch silk flower, chosen not only for its lifelike beauty, but for its durability and grace in the elements. Sunset tones—blush, apricot, soft rust, and cream—spill gently over the edges of the boat like something grown from golden hour itself.

These florals hold the heart of the session: soft, grounded, organic, and full of feeling.

👣 And Then There’s Her

My daughter, Amayah, turned 15 this year.

She is strength and softness. Sass and soul. And in this season of transformation—when she’s not quite girl, not yet grown—I wanted to create space for her to simply exist in all her becoming.

The session we shared on the water was more than a photoshoot. It was a conversation without words.

A visual poem. A gift to her, and maybe a little bit to myself too.

She let me guide her into golden hour with trust. And in return, she gave me something I’ll never forget.

What’s Coming

Golden Oars is for anyone who craves a session that feels like a sigh of relief. A pause. A piece of art that reflects something real.

I’m not releasing the full details just yet—the flowers still need some gentle repair after our first float, and I’m finalizing the locations.

But I can tell you this:

  • These sessions will be limited

  • They’ll be released by an inquiry only

  • And they will hold space for real emotion, softness, and beauty

If you’ve ever wanted to be photographed in a way that feels effortless, artful, and deeply personal, this might be your moment.

Until then, here’s a small glimpse of what’s to come.

Golden light. Open water. And a rowboat made to carry more than just bodies—made to carry memory.
