Frequently Asked Questions

Planning your session should feel just as enjoyable as the day itself. Below are answers to the most common questions I receive to help you feel confident, prepared, and excited for your photography experience.


📸 How do I book a session?


All sessions—including Family, Little Joys Studio, Seasonal Specials, and Weddings—are booked online through my website. You'll be prompted to select your date and package, and complete a short questionnaire so I can personalize your experience.


📝 What happens after I book?


Once you've completed your booking form and paid your session fee, you'll receive a confirmation email and next steps. Depending on your session type, you may receive a prep guide, style suggestions, or a welcome email with everything you need.


💬 What kind of questions are on the booking form?


My booking form helps me get to know you! You'll be asked about:

  • Who is being photographed (names/ages)

  • What kind of vibe or mood you’re going for (joyful, calm, editorial, etc.)

  • Whether you prefer candid/documentary vs. fine art edits

  • Skin texture preferences (natural or lightly retouched)

  • Whether you'd like color, black & white, or a mix

  • Any sensitivities, anxieties, or accommodations to be aware of

  • What you’ll use the photos for (prints, gifts, wall art, etc.)


✨ Pro Tip: Don’t worry about having all the answers! Just fill in what you can—we’ll connect before your session to make sure everything feels right.


🎨 What is your editing style?


My default editing style is clean, natural, and documentary-inspired. I focus on true-to-color tones with soft lighting and gentle skin tones to preserve the authenticity of each moment.


For clients who prefer a more polished, artistic look, I offer a Fine Art Edit Upgrade which includes painterly tones, skin smoothing, and additional refinement. You can select this upgrade through your gallery store after viewing your proofs.


🛒 What if I want changes after seeing my gallery?


I offer a range of additional editing options in the gallery store:

  • Face Swaps (great for group shots)

  • Blemish Removal (temporary skin distractions)

  • Retouching (flyaways, skin softening, etc.)

  • Object Removal (unwanted background distractions)

  • Fine Art Finish Upgrade (editorial refinement)


This gives you control over how your final images look without feeling pressured during the session.


📵 Why is there a no cell phone policy during sessions?


To maintain a calm, connected atmosphere and preserve the integrity of your images, phones and cameras must be put away during all sessions—including studio, outdoor, and weddings. If you need to take a call or photo, please step away from the session area. Thank you for understanding and helping us provide the best possible service!


🔁 Can I reschedule or cancel my session?


Session fees are non-refundable but transferable with 48 hours’ notice. Life happens—if something unexpected comes up, just reach out and we’ll do our best to reschedule.


🖼️ Do you offer prints, albums, or wall art?


Yes! Once your gallery is delivered, you’ll have access to professional print products through your online store. I offer high-quality albums, wall art, and print bundles that are perfect for keepsakes or gifts.
