🌿 About Me: Photographer, Storyteller, Brand Strategist, Mother

Hi, I’m Deanna Dunham. I’m a photographer, graphic designer, marketing strategist, and homeschooling parent. I live in the heart of the Okanagan, where I spend my days immersed in beauty—whether that’s behind the lens, in a field of wildflowers, or curled up with my kids and a hot cup of tea.

At the core of everything I do is storytelling—whether I’m photographing families, curating a brand’s visual identity, or writing content for a local winery (yes, I still manage a winery’s social media and marketing—because once a wine girl, always a wine girl).

I homeschool my six-year-old Matteo, cheer from the sidelines for my athletic 15-year-old daughter Amayah, and chase after my wildly entertaining three-year-old Niko. (If you’ve ever tried to have a phone call with me, you already know Niko’s the one doing most of the talking—so email is always my preferred mode of communication.)

My journey started in the wine industry, where I developed a love for branding, product placement, colour theory, and marketing that feels personal and alive. That work sparked my eye for detail, lighting, and visual storytelling—skills that evolved naturally into photography and design.

Today, I run Deanna Dunham Designs, where I offer studio and lifestyle photography with a focus on authentic emotion, clean light, and editorial polish. I’m also still deeply rooted in branding and content strategy, helping local businesses—from wineries to creatives—connect with their audiences through visuals that feel intentional and beautiful.

• Nature—bugs, blossoms, dirt under my feet, and golden hour on skin.

• Morning yoga, black coffee, and the quiet before the day begins.

• Running, slowly and steadily, just for me.

• Cooking slow meals with a glass of wine and a full heart.

Sessions with me are unposed, emotive, and relaxed. Whether I’m photographing a newborn in the studio or documenting a branding shoot in your space, I come with intention, patience, and an eye for the story in between the smiles.
