On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, I had the pleasure of attending and photographing the Golden Chari-Tea fundraiser at Poplar Grove Winery in support of the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation.
As both the event photographer and a Bronze Sponsor, I was honoured to contribute to an afternoon dedicated to supporting healthcare in our community.
As an additional way of giving back, 50% of proceeds from photo purchases will be donated back to the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation.
Guests gathered for an afternoon of tea, fashion, fundraising, and connection, all while helping raise funds that will directly support healthcare initiatives throughout the South Okanagan and Similkameen.
One of my favourite parts of photographing community events is watching people come together for a shared purpose. Throughout the afternoon, there was plenty of laughter, meaningful conversation, and an incredible amount of generosity from attendees, volunteers, sponsors, and organizers alike.
In addition to documenting the event, I created an elevated portrait experience for guests featuring oversized florals and rich olive tones inspired by the season. It was wonderful to see so many attendees step in front of the camera and create a keepsake from the day.
The South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation plays an important role in helping fund equipment, programs, and healthcare initiatives that benefit all of us. Events like the Golden Chari-Tea are a reminder of how much can be accomplished when a community comes together.
Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, Poplar Grove Winery, fashion show participants, and every guest who attended and supported this important fundraiser.
It was a pleasure to be part of it.
Thank you for supporting local healthcare and local fundraising efforts.
Warmly,
Deanna Dunham
