If you’ve been dreaming of Fall family photos in Summerland, October is the perfect time. The leaves turn golden, the light softens, and the Okanagan becomes one of the most magical backdrops for family photography.
This year’s Fall Collection is designed to give you more than the rushed, 15-minute “mini session” experience. Instead, my sessions allow for warmth, exploration, and a story that unfolds naturally.
With flexible dates throughout October, complimentary rescheduling, and space for kids to warm up and shine, you’ll walk away with photos that feel true to your family.
📸 Why Choose These Sessions Over Standard Minis?
Many photographers offer Okanagan fall mini sessions that are quick, strict on timing, and limited to a single weekend. My approach is different:
All of October: Choose the date that works best for you.
Flexible Timing: Not locked into one timeslot—reschedule if weather or sniffles hit.
Child-Friendly Pace: Shy kids are given time to warm up; energetic ones are free to explore.
Relaxed + Personalized: The session adapts to your family’s mood that day.
More Variety: Outfit changes and multiple backdrops are welcome.
This isn’t about rushing through a checklist—it’s about capturing genuine connection and storytelling.

It’s the perfect way to enjoy both looks without booking separate sessions.
👗 What to Wear for Fall Family Photos
One of the most common questions I get is: What should we wear for fall photos?
Here’s my guide:
Colors that pop in fall: Earthy neutrals like tan, cream, beige, olive, rust, mustard, and deep burgundy.
Textures that photograph beautifully: Knit sweaters, corduroy, linen, denim, or layered scarves.
Patterns: Small, subtle plaids or florals work well—avoid busy prints and neon tones.
Shoes: Neutral boots or flats; keep footwear seasonal and simple.
Family tip: Pick 2–3 tones and weave them through your family’s outfits rather than matching exactly.
When in doubt, think cozy, timeless, and comfortable—you’ll look like you belong in the season.

We’ve done photos with Deanna a few times now, and what always stands out is her patience and the way she never rushes us. With kids, you never know what kind of mood you’ll get on photo day, but Deanna makes space for it all — shy moments, snack breaks, even outfit changes. The flexibility she offers is unmatched, and it takes so much stress off our shoulders. We always end up with photos that feel like us because she gives the time for real moments to unfold.
